MT Education Data Collection Team
Infinite Campus is the OPI's state-wide student information system. This system allows school districts to submit required staff, student, and course information electronically. Infinite Campus provides the OPI, the State of Montana, federal entities, and the education community, with timely and accurate data used for state and federal reporting. The MT Education Data Collection Team is teaming up with you to meet all of your data reporting requirements!

Count Date School Closures
In the event that your district has cancelled school today, in accordance with 20-9-311, MCA and ARM 10.20.102, use the next regularly scheduled school day as the Count Date. If you are calculating, entering, or uploading Aggregate Hours and Attendance, use the next scheduled school day. If you are calculating Aggregate Hours in Infinite Campus, wait until the day after the next regularly scheduled school day to run the MT Count Date Attendance Tool.
If you are running a late start, you may need to create a new period schedule and add that period schedule to today's date (Scheduling & Courses>Calendars>Day Setup).
Please reach out to the Education Data Collection Team if you have any questions!
Spring Count Date is Here!
Please see District Resources>Data Collection Information>Infinite Campus User Guides. The new Spring ANB and Spring Teacher Class guides are now available!! Just a reminder that collections start on TUESDAY, February 4, 2025. Please do not try to certify in Infinite Campus or import to MAEFAIRS on Monday.
Beginning Tuesday, just a couple of reminders:
1. You must wait at least 60 minutes after your last data change before certifying in Infinite Campus (use the Run at State option on Validation Reports to ensure sync between the district and state).
2. You must wait at least 60 minutes after certifying in Infinite Campus before importing to MAEFAIRS.
3. If you populated Aggregate Hours prior to the count date, run the Montana Count Date Attendance tool to populate Count Date Absences (may enter manually or use a file upload).
4. The Spring Early Literacy box must be populated manually for all Classroom-Based Early Literacy students. We are recommending that districts populate both Fall and Spring.
5. This collection is due by February 14, 2025. Timely submission is critical to the issuance of Preliminary Budget Sheets. All submissions must be complete by close of business February 14th.
New MT Accreditation Application
The new MT Accred application is now live! It is pulling staff and course information for accreditation purposes on a nightly basis. Please run the reports available to you in that application to ensure that data entered in Infinite Campus is matching with Accreditation requirements. You may make changes to Fall Personnel and Teacher Class data without recertification of either collection. However, any changes to personnel (FTE, State Assignment Code, School) may affect your Quality Educator Component (QEC). Run your Fall Personnel and Fall Teacher Class validations within Infinite Campus again after any data changes to ensure continued accuracy in those collections.
