Learn More About our Montana Content Standards for Math and English

The OPI collaborated with the Council of the Great City Schools to offer family roadmaps for mathematics and English Language Arts and literacy.  The family roadmaps provide guidance on what your children will learn at each grade and how families can support in that learning.  In addition, the roadmaps provide a three-year snapshot showing how selected standards progress from year to year to help prepare children to be college and career ready upon graduation from high school.

  • Home & Private School COVID Funding
  • MT Home School Information Packet
  • Directory of Montana Schools- search by county.
  • Montana Content Standards define end of grade level learning expectations for 11 content areas.
  • Early Learning Standards guide the work of early childhood professionals to ensure that students from birth to age five have the skills and knowledge they need to achieve success.
  • MTDA- Montana Digital Academy: the statewide virtual school,  was created in 2009 by the Montana Legislature to serve K-12 students in Montana through a supplementary online curricular model. As they are not a school, they do not take enrollments directly from students or their parents. If you are interested in discussing MTDA enrollment, please contact the counselor at the public school in the community where you live. This includes homeschool and private school students.  Each district sets its own policies and procedures for enrollment of students in MTDA programs.
  • EdReady Montana extends upon the MTDA core offerings by helping to address gaps in math and English Language Arts readiness and help students become better prepared for their college and career paths. Any Montanan may request an account to EdReady.
