The traffic education curriculum modules distributed by the Office of Public Instruction meet the Montana traffic education standards and benchmarks described in the Curriculum Guide for Teen Driver Education and Training. Refer to the Curriculum Modules List for a description of all curriculum modules and how to integrate with behind-the-wheel instruction.

WHAT'S NEW IN THE MONTANA TEEN DRIVER CURRICULUM?

January 2018: We are making revisions to the curriculum files format.  Powerpoint files can now be downloaded at our Digital Assets site HERE. Check back often to download the latest updates.

The PDF versions of the Powerpoint files MUST be downloaded to your computer for quick video playback.

Most files are in Adobe Acrobat (pdf) format.  If you need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, download it here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

All videos in the pdfs will be MP4 format and will be closed captioned, if necessary.  Videos are (or will be) posted at the OPI Traffic Education YouTube site.  Factsheets will be paired with related worksheets. The Lesson Plans have been removed. Refer to the pdf version of the Powerpoint file for presenter notes.

A new Behind-the-Wheel Instruction Guide was published October 2017 and replaces BTW Lesson Plan Guidelines. Includes a section on evaluating teen drivers' performance and progress.
