Work-Related Duties:

  1. Oversees three units- Accreditation, Educator Preparation, and Licensures.
  2. Ensures all accreditation and licensure policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the State Board of Public Education are duly executed (Chapter 55, Chapter 57, and Chapter 58).
  3. Manages the current accreditation and licensure systems while providing technical assistance to the field.

Crystal Andrews is the Director of Accreditation, Educator Preparation Programs, and Licensure for the Montana Office of Public Instruction. She has been with the OPI since 2017 serving in various roles. Prior to joining the OPI Crystal was an elementary teacher for 12 years, having taught in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Montana. Crystal is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but has called Wolf Creek, Montana home since 2012.

  2. Create and verify implementation of school improvement plans, evidence-based improvement strategies, and data driven decision making.
  3. Create and implement a new accreditation system for the State of Montana.

Ellery Bresler has been with the Office of Public Instruction since December of 2021.She spends her days helping schools understand the different components of accreditation. Ellery is originally from Havre, Montana and came to Helena to go to Carroll College where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Anthrozoology. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, gardening, and hiking.

Michelle Price has 22 years of experience in the school setting. She has taught all grades K-8, spent four years in a one room schoolhouse, and has four years of experience as an elementary and K-12 principal. She and her family are originally from Texas but have proudly called Montana home since 2010. She loves spending time with her family while taking road trips and enjoying nature.
