Montana State Approving Agency (SAA) Veterans Education
ROLE AND APPROVAL PROCESS
Montana SAA is contracted by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to review and evaluate educational and training programs offered by institutions, schools, and employers in the state of Montana. Once programs meet the criteria set forth by state and federal regulations, they can be approved by the Montana SAA. After an approval is accepted by VA, veterans and eligible beneficiaries can use their GI Bill® benefits while enrolled in the approved programs.
Additionally, the Montana SAA is responsible for the oversight and supervision of all approved programs in Montana to ensure they are in accordance with all applicable legislation, provisions, and policies. These tasks are conducted through compliance surveys, on-going training, and outreach.
