Dylan Martin grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and later moved to Lake Stevens, WA, during high school, where he graduated near the top of his class. After high school, he returned to Idaho to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. Dylan eventually became an automotive mechanic and still enjoys working on cars during the weekends. In the spring of 2017, he moved to Helena, where he met his wife, Alesha, in 2020. They have been married for three years and enjoy spending their summers at the lake, boating and camping. Dylan is a passionate yard enthusiast and takes pride in mowing and maintaining his lawn, striving to make it look like a golf course. He also has a 9-year-old husky Pitbull mix and has a deep love for animals. Dylan is eager to leverage his lifetime of experiences to add value to his new position and is excited to be part of the team.

  2. Coordinates larger upkeep projects with external partners (GSD).
  3. Develops the long-range building and maintenance plan.

William "Bill" Wilson has lived in Helena his whole life and raising his family here. He comes to OPI from the Montana State Auditor's Office, Commissioner of Insurance and Securities where he worked in State government for over 15 years. He is excited to join the OPI team in this new role. In his free time, you can find him enjoying all the outdoor activities that Helena and Montana has to offer like boating, floating, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, dirt bike riding and camping, as well as watching his kids play the athletic sports they love!

Lee is a native of Billings and attended Eastern Montana College for a year. Lee relocated to California in 1975 to work for the Air Force and attended Valley College in San Bernardino, CA, studying Film and Political Science, then worked for 20 years in the U.S. Postal Service. Lee has worked a multitude of jobs over the years including as a chef at the U of Montana in Missoula, 5 years as a baker, and owning a pizza business here in Helena for 5 years. Lee started working for OPI in 2013. Lee and his wife, Linda, enjoy traveling and have gotten to visit places like New York City for a week, New Orleans, Seattle, Alaska, and Hawaii. The next stop is most likely Italy!

Heather is responsible for organizational and administrative duties for the OPI Legal Unit. She assists in contract drafting, oversees legal file management, serves on various committees, and various administrative tasks. Heather grew up in Helena and fancies herself a lover of all things stationery, especially fountain pens. She is the mother to 2 sons and 1 daughter and “Nonni” to 4 beautiful granddaughters that she adores absolutely.

Laura came to OPI as a Temp hire in March and was hired in her admin assistant role in June 2022. She is a retired Air Force Veteran, has three boys and one girl and three grandchildren. Laura worked for Peloton for 4 years and is excited to learn and grow with OPI.

Autumn Frey is a solutions-focused Administrator with over 20 years of management and leadership experience. She has a degree in Psychology and in Business Management. She is looking forward to developing and supporting the most powerful assets of OPI – our employees. Autumn enjoys the outdoors and does crafts in her down time. You never know what the next creation will be.

  1. Audit OPI functions to ensure compliance with Federal and State Regulations
  2. Monitor agency functions to ensure the agency remains in compliance.
  3. Consult with OPI staff and management to assist in creating strong internal controls.

Kristen Becker was born and raised in Eastern Montana.  While in Eastern Montana she worked for an accounting firm for 18 years providing bookkeeping, accounting, and tax services for a very diverse clientele.  In April of 2009, she and her daughter moved to Helena to chase new endeavors, which included a position with the State of Montana and eventually Kristen’s return to school to earn her bachelor’s degree in business management/accounting from MSU Billings in 2016.  She has two grown children who also live in Helena, and she spends as much time as possible with them.  During the summer, time at the lake is her preferred place, enjoying the sun, sand, and water.  She loves learning and being a positive influence on all who cross her path.

Data Governance Specialist


Work-Related Duties:

  1. Responsible for the management of the OPI’s Data Governance System.
  2. Responsible for the documentation regarding how and where key elements of data and decisions around data are documented and recorded.
  3. Oversees all data-use requests by outside entities, including researchers, and manage and document all requests through fulfillment or denial.

Eli moved to Helena in 2022 so that his future wife could take a job in education. Having lived in Helena previously for past jobs and loving his time there, it has been as if he’s returning home. Eli comes to OPI after working for online retailers, performing both analytics and data work. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from MSU-Bozeman. Eli and his wife enjoy hiking with their dogs in the Scratch Gravels and the South Hills or sheltering at home with a good book on the drearier days. Eli also enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, trail running, and alpine & Nordic skiing. He is thrilled to be in Helena with his wife and to have the opportunity to serve Montana’s education system!
