Save Time and Money by Participating in the State of Montana's Cooperative Purchasing Program

By law, tribal governments and Montana's political subdivisions (including public school districts) may purchase supplies and services in cooperation with the State of Montana.  This is called cooperative purchasing and often provides substantial savings to participating school districts when compared to purchasing on their own.  In addition to better pricing, procurement can also be faster and more efficient by avoiding the bid and contract negotiation process school districts would otherwise need to conduct.  Cooperative purchase contracts typically have all the necessary terms and conditions already agreed upon and are "ready to use" for use by school districts.

Please visit the State of Montana Procurement Bureau's Cooperative Purchasing Webpage for more information on how to participate and what goods and services are available for cooperative purchase.

SketchUp

SketchUp is professional and full-featured 3D modeling and design software that is used by various industries and makers to visualize and design everything from buildings to 3D printed parts. Trimble, the company that offers Sketchup, has announced they are discontinuing their Statewide License Grant program, effective July 1, 2022.

  • Option 1: Trimble is encouraging schools to transition to the free web-based, 3D modeling app called SketchUp for Schools available through Google Workspace and Microsoft Education platforms. The move to a web app allows students around the world free access to this tool without the need for software licensing.
  • Option 2: If schools would like to continue using Sketchup Pro (desktop application) instead of Sketchup for Schools, they can purchase Sketchup Pro 2022 Network Lab Licenses here (intended for installation in lab/classroom environments):
  • Option 3: If schools would like to continue using Sketchup Pro, but would like to distribute the licenses to individual students/staff rather than install in a classroom/lab environment, there are user-licenses called Sketchup Studio for Universities 1-Year User licenses (K-12 schools can purchase too).
