This online Moodle course covers the Montana Tribal Histories Educators' Resource Guide developed by Julie Cajune and the The Framework: A Practical Guide for Montana Teachers and Administrators Implementing Indian Education for All by Tammy Elser. Through the readings, students will explore primary and secondary documents that inform the tribal histories of Montana. Students will utilize their critical analysis skills while using instructional strategies within the context of multicultural education. Additional details are available in the syllabus. Heartlines: Engaging Students with Tribal Materials and Common Core Skills - ONLINE - with Anna E. Baldwin
Start Date: 2/4/2013
This course will provide a guided, reflective tour of rich, tribally-specific materials created by Heartlines and demonstrate engaging classroom practices including a video showing students participating in them. The course will connect the materials and the practices to the Montana Common Core Standards. Participants will be supported as they create a curricular unit integrating materials from Heartlines and the classroom practices demonstrated during the class. Click here for details. Cost: $100
