MONTANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY FREE SECOND SATURDAY AND NEW EXHIBITS!

The Montana Historical Society's January Second Saturday free admission day offers a chance to see two new beautiful and exciting exhibits.

"The Art of Story Telling: Plains Indian Perspectives" and "Mapping Montana: Two Centuries of Cartography" are a fascinating look at how events and features of what is now Montana have been passed down to today.

Story Telling uses Native American artwork and artifacts that are stunning and beautiful to help museum goers understand pictographic art, winter counts and other ways Indians passed their history down to later generations.

Mapping Montana draws on the Society's rich collection of more than 10,000 maps to offer a new way to look at the history of the state and how development affected land use.

Second Saturday is sponsored by the Helena Community Credit Union and KTVH television. In addition to free admission, drawings for door prizes are offered throughout the day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
