The Montana Site Stewardship Program and the Helena National Forest will be hosting an Archaeological Site Steward training on October 8-9 at the Helena National Forest Office in Helena. At the training, you will learn to recognize archaeological sites and their components including artifacts, stone circles, and rock art. In addition, site stewards will learn to identify and document impacts to sites caused by both natural and human activities. If you would like to attend the training and become a Montana Site Steward, please fill out the attached application and send to Crystal Alegria at the address below. If you have any questions about the training or the program, please don’t hesitate to call me at (406) 994-6925 or email calegria@montana.edu. The training is free, and lunch will be provided both days! Hope to see you at the training in October!
