Lloyd New Institute of Native American Art - July 19-23, 2010
For teachers interested in a unique opportunity to study the intersection of Native American art and culture, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center Plains Indian Museum in Cody, Wyoming is co-sponsoring a week-long program with the University of Wyoming.
Participants will immerse themselves in Native American art and culture through a variety of experiences: study of extraordinary original objects from the past three centuries; close interaction with dynamic, creative artists serving as instructors; in-depth research; and museum experience.
Instructors include: Dr. Judith Antell (Chippewa), Arthur Amiotte (Oglala Lakota), Emma I. Hansen (Pawnee), Bently Spang (Northern Cheyenne), and Ken Blackbird (Assiniboine.) "Led entirely by native artists and scholars, the program offers one-on one interaction with artists for a better understanding of their training, backgrounds, creativity, and inspirations"
The Institute takes place at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, WY - July 19-23.
