Montana Common Core Standards

On November 4, 2011 the Board of Public Education adopted the Montana Common Core Standards for English Language Arts and Literacy and Mathematics. These new standards give every student, no matter where they live, the opportunity to receive an education that will prepare them for college or to enter the workforce. The OPI's staff is providing professional development for schools and teachers so they can align their curriculum with the new standards. In November, the OPI conducted a two-day workshop for over 100 people and they have 300 people registered for their workshop on December 1 and 2.
