In April, the Montana Autism Education Project brought Rudy Simone, author of the books, "Aspergirls" and "Asperger's On The Job" to Billings, Helena, Missoula and Kalispell to present on Aspergers Syndrome. Over 400 teachers, administrators and parents attended these presentations, which were consistently described as "amazing" and "awesome". We are planning to have Ms. Simone return to Montana in the spring of 2013.

Consultants for the Montana Autism Education Project have provided over 100 days of on-site student consultations and trainings on autism spectrum disorders in this past school year. We will be expanding the number of trainings we offer in the 2012-2013 school year. If you would like more information about these trainings or consultations please contact Doug Doty at ddoty@mt.gov.

The Montana Autism Education Project also maintains a blog with information about autism spectrum disorders and information about upcoming trainings in Montana, as well as numerous free webinars. The webinars are a great resource for staff training in all areas of autism spectrum disorders.

We also send a monthly email that summarizes training opportunities and recent news about autism/Asperger's, as well as information about the use of iPads and other assistive technologies with students. If you wish to subscribe to this mailing list, please email Doug Doty at ddoty@mt.gov with the Subject Line, "Mailing List."
