Educator Licensure system/TEAMS collection schedule update

OPI has made a change in the schedule for implementing the Montana Educator Information System (MSEIS), the new Educator Licensure system.  In previous communications, the OPI announced an implementation date of April 2012.  Due to project delays, OPI was unable to go live with the new system by July 1. Given the high volume of licensure applications that OPI processes during the summer leading up to the start of school, OPI has chosen to delay implementation until after the Fall 2012 reporting cycle is complete. We are now anticipating an implementation date of December 1, 2012.   

Consequently, the Accreditation/Master Schedule portion of TEAMs (i.e., the new module for collecting courses and teaching assignments for school accreditation) will not be implemented this Fall.  The OPI will use the existing Annual Data Collection (ADC) for the 2012-13, as in prior years.   The TEAMs Accreditation/Master Schedule system will be implemented for the 2013-14 school year.   

OPI is moving forward with the assignment of unique school employee identifiers and collection of the Terms of Employment. Districts and Special Education Cooperatives will need to complete the process for requesting School Employee Identifiers (SEIDs) and report the Terms of Employment information for all staff this fall.   The system for collecting this information will be in place by October.
