To qualify for the Silver Award, East Helena Elementary School District submitted a detailed application documenting adherence to the HealthierUS School Challenge criteria for their lunch menus, nutrition education, opportunities for physical activity, and a local school wellness policy. The district’s school food service received $2000.00 award money from USDA and recognized their staff at a February School Board meeting with Superintendent Juneau in attendance.
