Hellgate Elementary School District receives Healthy School Breakfast Award

Hellgate Elementary School District in Missoula successfully qualified for a Healthier Montana Menu Challenge Award for School Breakfast in January 2013.  Hellgate Elementary School District is only the 5th school district statewide to receive this prestigious award.  In doing so, their school district is serving exceptionally healthy school breakfast meals which meet the recommendations of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.  Students participating in the school breakfast program are gaining invaluable experience in learning what a healthy, balanced meal looks and tastes like.  Good nutrition is an essential factor in academic and physical success.
