2013 Youth Risk Behavior Survey UpdatesMonday, February 4, 2013, 11:51 am
District superintendents and the designated coordinator at each school for the Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) may now access school-specific data via the web-based YRBS application from the web page www.opi.mt.gov/yrbs. YRBS results are available for each year your school participated in the biennial survey of health risk behaviors in the six topics of unintentional injuries and violence; tobacco use; alcohol and other drug use; sexual behaviors; dietary behaviors; and physical inactivity.
The 2013 YRBS will be conducted in late February, with nearly 30,000 students in 289 schools that are registered to participate. Since 1991, the Montana Office of Public Instruction, through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has conducted the YRBS with students in grades 7-12 to help measure and monitor trends in unhealthy behaviors.
