Registration packets for the 2013 Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) were mailed to district superintendents on October 1.  The YRBS is a biennial student survey administered by the OPI through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The data provides a measurement of risk behaviors associated with unintentional injuries and violence, tobacco use, alcohol and other drug use, sexual behaviors, dietary behaviors and physical activity.  The Montana YRBS has achieved weighted data for 20 years - the longest statistically valid, trend data set in the nation.  In 2011, 94 percent of Montana districts participated in the YRBS.  Your local school-specific data, both high school and grades 7-8, is located at   The 2013 YRBS will be conducted in February 2013.
