Keeping Schools & Kids Safe Trainings
Monday, October 3, 2011, 5:18 pmFour regional trainings of Keeping Schools & Kids Safe have been scheduled by the OPI's HIV Prevention Education program. In addition to an HIV "101", the one-day training provides teaching strategies for sexual health respect, reasons for abstinence, decision-making and critical-thinking skills and lesson plans that address bullying and other prevention education messages. Policy for communicable disease and bloodborne pathogen safety will be disseminated. Each training includes a working lunch and is offered for 6 renewal units. The training is appropriate for K-12 classroom teachers, and educators of health enhancement, family and consumer science, biology, counselors and administrators. The training is held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following sites:
- Butte - October 3 - Best Western Butte Plaza Inn
- Bozeman - October 4 - Wingate Inn
- Missoula - October 17 - Best Western Grant Creek Inn
- Kalispell - October 18 - Red Lion Hotel
