Cook Smart to Help Kids Eat Smart: Workshops for School Food Service CooksThursday, April 1, 2010, 3:23 pm
Food preparation workshops for foodservice managers, cooks and cook's assistants will be held this Spring and Summer. Classes will discuss food preparation techniques that help cooks and menu planners meet Dietary Guidelines for Americans goals and USDA regulations. Participants will learn to reduce fat, sugar, and sodium while increasing fiber, flavor, and overall eye appeal of meals and snacks. The four hour training will include a lunch meal. The workshops are free but preregistration is required and limited to 20 participants per site.
Each workshop is from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
