On March 10, 2010, Luther Elementary will celebrate their Healthier US School Challenge Silver Award with special guests, including representatives from USDA in Denver and the MT Office of Public Instruction School Nutrition Programs.  Luther School is one of seven Montana schools to qualify for this prestigious award.  Serving 38 students, this school also boasts 100% school lunch program participation!  The school emphasizes fresh, colorful meals cooked from scratch - including a variety of fruits and vegetables, legumes, whole grains, and low fat dairy products.

The US Department of Agriculture commends Luther Elementary School for their exemplary steps to achieve a healthier school environment by providing healthy school meals, nutrition education in the classroom and regular opportunities for physical activity.
