McKinney-Vento Homeless Education Grants

The Title X – Education of Homeless Children and Youth Program has disbursed federal grant funds to eleven Montana districts for the 2013-14 school year. A total of $141,564 in grant funding was available. Districts and consortia are required to identify a total of 40 or more homeless students in AIM in order to be eligible to apply for the grant. Grant funds were in the following amounts; Missoula County Public Schools: $31,355; Billings Public Schools: $41,560; Browning Public Schools: $16,120; Bozeman/Belgrade/Livingston Consortium: $9,840; Kalispell/Evergreen Consortium: $9,720; Helena Public Schools: $4,125; Great Falls Public Schools: $20,294; Sidney Public Schools: $8,550. These districts served a combined total of 2,160 identified homeless students in grades PK-12 during the 2012-13 school year.
