Gifted and Talented GrantsMonday, February 24, 2014, 9:56 am
The 2014-2015 GT Intent to Apply is opening March 3, 2014 and will close March 28, 2014. The Intent to Apply has now been integrated into the E-grants system. Hopefully this will streamline the entire grant process. Any school system/district interested in applying for Gifted and Talented Grant Funds must complete the Intent to Apply by Midnight on March 28, 2014. There were a few changes to the GT Grant Application process last year; the Gifted Program Plan submission was the major one. In the Intent to Apply, each participating school district/system will certify that they have a current Gifted and Talented Program Plan or are in the process of updating their plan and each school understands that they will be required to submit (uploaded to the GT grant application) the plan as part of their GT grant application. A revised Gifted Education Resource Guide can be found on the OPI website. This resource guide highlights the main components of a comprehensive Gifted & Talented Education Program Plan. In addition to the resource guide each of the five Regional Education Service Areas offer professional development in writing your district plan.
