Superintendent Juneau Announces Selection of Dr. Jael Prezeau as
Administrator of the Content Standards and Instruction Division
Helena, MT - Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau announced the selection of Dr. Jael Prezeau of Libby, Montana, as the Administrator of the Content Standards and Instruction Division in the Office of Public Instruction (OPI). Prezeau will oversee implementation of the Montana Common Core Standards in English and math and supervise the division at OPI which provides resources and information to Montana educators regarding academic standards, professional development and best practices.
Prezeau's first day was July 16, 2012.
Dr. Jael Prezeau was raised in Montana and received all three of her degrees at the University of Montana, including a B.A. in Liberal Arts, an M.A. in English, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership.
For the past 11 years, she has been an administrator for Libby K-12 Schools. Her responsibilities included curriculum, assessment, federal and state grants and special education. She serves on the Title I Advisory Committee, the regional and national Parent Teacher Home Visit Project and as the MBI State Council Chair.
Throughout her teaching career, she taught overseas for the American Preparatory Institute and Central Texas College and in Montana’s public school middle and high school classrooms, as well as serving as a Montana reading specialist, a regional writing consultant, and a freelance editor.
Over the course of her career, she has worked to build effective collaborative relationships, to foster innovation and to lead change.
