Hundreds of Educators Gather to Focus on Student Success and School Climate


Bozeman, MT - More than 900 participants are expected at the Montana Behavioral Initiative (MBI) Summer Institute at the MSU campus in Bozeman being held June 20-24.


Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau said, "Creating a positive learning environment is a key part of student success. All students deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and be surrounded by caring adults to help them achieve their goals. MBI fosters learning environments that produce results."


MBI is a proactive approach to creating behavioral supports and a social culture that establishes social, emotional and academic success for all students.


Topics at the MBI Summer Institute include dropout prevention, integrated school mental health, bullying prevention, parent/family/community engagement, 21st Century learning strategies and more. Participants will spend an entire day of the conference focusing on listening to student voices. Several of the panels that day will be led by students.


WHAT:  Media is invited to attend the conference welcome and MBI Exemplar School awards. Superintendent Juneau will present the awards and give remarks.
