When a record is listed as "keep permanently", can we keep an electronic version of the document and destroy the paper document?
Paper copies of documents designated for permanent retention must be retained on paper or microfilm.
Please refer to Administrative Rule 44.14.202:
“ whereas, records with a 10 year or greater, the retention period can be supported by electronic records, but must also be saved in paper or converted to microfilm.”
