I am an adult who has just moved to Montana from a foreign country and would like to learn how to drive. Are there any schools or teachers available to prepare me for the required driver’s tests, especially the driving test?
There are no private driving schools in Montana approved by the state of Montana. Occasionally, someone will offer private lessons to adults. You can do an Internet search to find these services. OPI cannot endorse these services. You can also call your local school district to find out if a traffic education teacher is available to give private lessons. You can use materials on OPI’s website [http://opi.mt.gov/Programs/DriverEd/Index.html] to study for the written exam. OPI’s Teen Driver Curriculum modules for behind-the-wheel lessons are available to the public. A friend or relative can review these modules to help with in-vehicle training. The Adapted Illustrated Driver’s Manual available for download includes practice tests to prepare for the driver’s license exam.
