Question:
For a variety of reasons, we are pulling our child of the remainder of the school year. We will also be home schooling beginning next year, and I understand what is required for full year home school.
What I am unclear about is what we should be doing, if anything, to advise the state or county that she is not attending for the remainder of the year. We are making arrangements to borrow her books and get her work completed, so we'll be on top of the compulsory attendance part of it and the work, but I wasn't sure if some notification is required.
Answer:
You need to contact the County Superintendent in the county in which the home school is located and tell them you are homeschooling your daughter.
You will need to contact them again to register for next year.
