Election Judges-Training
Q: What is required for the training of election judges?
A: School district election judges must meet the requirements of 13-4-203, MCA. The Secretary of State’s office suggests several options to help school districts meet this requirement:
- Use election judges already trained and certified by the county election administrator.
- Coordinate with the county election administrator to send election judges to training being done by the county election administrator.
- The Secretary of State’s “2010 Election Judge Training” PowerPoint is available on the Secretary’s website at http://sos.mt.gov/Elections/Officials/index.asp, and could be used by any school clerk who wants to conduct their own training. A CD with this training on it has been sent to each county election administrator so that uniform procedures are incorporated into each county’s election judge training curriculum. A sample Certification is available at your county election administrator’s office.
