The Small Rural School Achivement (SRSA) grant recipients are being required to use the Department of Education's GAPS e-payment system to request and receive cash draws. This is new to most school district clerks.
-- The "DUNS number" is one piece of information requested. A DUNS number is a 9 digit Dun and Bradstreet business identifier. The appplication materials contained the DUNS number for your district. If you don't have that, request the district's DUNS number on this site: http://www.dnb.com/US/duns_update/index.html (NOTE: You only need the number, not an account.) OR Call 1-888-814-1435, follow the menu through to request a DUNS number, and a person will answer to process your request. GETTING THE NUMBER MIGHT TAKE 2 WEEKS. -- The Routing Numbers for you bank account are also requested. CONTACT the County Treasurer to get help filling out the "SF 1199A, Direct Deposit Form." OPI recommends you list the county's existing account so the Feds will send your money to the County Treasurer to deposit in your funds, consistent with other funding sources they receive electronically.
Please let me know if you have any other related questions come up--I'd be happy to try and find the answers.
