Changing careers

I am considering changing careers. What would I have to do to become a teacher in Montana?

If you have at least a bachelor's degree, The Northern Plains Transition to Teaching Program at MSU Bozeman (http://www.montana.edu/nptt) may be of help as a route to secondary licensure. It is a compacted secondary-level preparatory program designed to put professionals from other fields into high-need schools.

Those with at least a bachelor's degree wishing to teach in the Elementary grades (K-8) must contact a university offering an accredited elementary teacher preparation program.

Please see http:// www.opi.mt.gov /Cert/Index.html for information concerning Classes of Montana Educator Licensure and for application materials.
